Shipping & Returns

1. Global Dispatch & Origin

  • Primary Workshop & Shipping Point: All items listed on our platform are dispatched directly from our manufacturing facility and central distribution workshop located in Pakistan.

  • Direct-from-Forge Advantage: Shipping directly from our workshop allows us to maintain strict quality control standards, ensuring every blade undergoes a final hand inspection, oiling, and sharpening before it is packaged for export.

2. Processing & Transit Timelines

  • Order Processing Time: In-stock items are processed, lubricated, wrapped in protective moisture barriers, and packaged within 2 to 4 business days. Custom orders or custom-engraved blades require 5 to 7 business days before dispatch.

  • Standard International Transit Time: International delivery typically takes 10 to 20 business days to arrive at destination countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Europe, and Australia.

  • Factors Affecting Transit: Please note that international shipping timelines can exceed 10 business days depending on international flight schedules, postal carrier transfers, remote destination delivery, or seasonal logistics surges (e.g., holiday seasons).

3. Tracking & Order Monitoring

Upon dispatch, an automated shipping confirmation containing a tracking number (via DHL, FedEx, or international courier networks) will be sent to the email address provided at checkout. Please allow up to 48 hours for tracking details to update on the carrier’s system.

4. Customs, Import Duties, & Local Regulations

  • Import Taxes & Customs Clearance: All international shipments are sent on a DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid) basis. This means product prices and shipping fees displayed on our website do not include local customs taxes, value-added taxes (VAT), import tariffs, or courier processing fees levied by the destination country.

  • Customer Responsibility: It is the buyer’s sole responsibility to pay any applicable import charges or taxes upon arrival in their country.

  • Customs Delays: Customs departments hold the legal authority to inspect and hold international packages. MIT Knives is not responsible for transit delays caused by customs holds or clearance procedures.

  • Compliance with Local Knife Laws: It is the buyer’s strict responsibility to verify local laws and restrictions regarding blade lengths, folding mechanisms, double-edged items, or restricted import tools prior to placing an order. MIT Knives is not liable for items confiscated, destroyed, or returned by customs due to local legal prohibitions.

5. Package Inspection & Damaged Shipments

Due to the nature of international transit, packages may be handled multiple times.

  • Arrival Inspection: Upon receiving your package, inspect the outer shipping box and contents immediately.

  • Damages in Transit: If your blade arrives with structural defects or physical damage sustained during shipping, you must contact our customer support at support@mitknives.com within 48 hours of delivery. Please include your order number, a detailed description, and clear, high-resolution photographs of both the damaged packaging and the item.

6. Return & Exchange Policy

  • Return Eligibility Window: We accept return requests for eligible items within 14 calendar days from the date of confirmed delivery.

  • Item Condition: To qualify for a full refund or exchange, returned items must be in unused, unsharpened, undamaged, and original condition. The item must include all original protective blade guards, oil wrappings, boxes, and leather sheaths.

  • Non-Returnable Items: Custom-made orders, personalized/engraved blades, and clearance sale items are final sale and cannot be returned unless they contain a verified manufacturing defect.

  • Return Shipping Costs: The buyer is responsible for paying all return shipping costs, international tracking fees, and appropriate insurance coverage when returning an item to our facility in Pakistan. Original shipping fees are non-refundable.
